Andrew Nihopara

Andrew is the Solomon Islands Government Permanent Secretary of Culture & Tourism, a role that requires liaison at the highest levels of Government and industry to ensure that tourism policy, infrastructure development and investment is managed in manner that ensures the protection the Solomon Islands (SI) unique culture and heritage.

In addition to his Government position Andrew also works independently to support the (SI) International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the School of Tourism & Hospitality of the University of the South Pacific (USP), the Foundation for the People of the South Pacific International (FSPI) and the South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO)

Recognised as a leader in South Pacific Tourism Development, in 2009 Andrew was recgonised by the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) as the industry’s ‘Face of the Future’. An internationally recognised award for excellence in Tourism.
